Sinful Foods

August 22nd, 2011

We are all guilty of eating foods that we feel are healthy. We indulge ourselves with these kinds of foods because we believe that they are healthy. You can still eat these foods as part of your weight loss program, but of course in moderation.

Here are some of the ‘healthy foods’ that make us fat:

Artificially-flavored yogurt

Yogurt is healthy—artificial fruit flavorings isn’t. So, if you want to eat yogurt as a part of your diet, it is best that you eat plain, nonfat yogurt instead, then you be the one to add fresh fruits in it. In this way, you can consume yogurt in as many cups as you want.

Bread

For people who wants to lose a lot of weight, they eat bread as part of their meals. But, studies show that  bread-lovers think that it’s easy to eat too much of bread in a single eating. A better alternative for your meal would be to eat grains instead with a slice of protein-rich food or vegetables.

Breakfast Cereal

There are a lot of breakfast cereals out in the market that position themselves as the healthy option, but because of its taste, people tend to eat it as part of their snacks, too—which, as a result, stops your weight loss process. You can eat the plain cereals with skim milk, because this has lower calorie count  than eating cereals alone.

Cottage Cheese

Even if regular cottage cheese only contains a little bit of fat, it may contribute in the slow process of your weight loss program because you might be eating too much of it without you noticing it. If you want to indulge on this food, (without being guilty, that is) it is better to use nonfat cottage cheese instead.

Sugar-free hot chocolate

If you’re one of those people who satisfy their sweet cravings with a sugar-free hot chocolate, and ends up drinking as much as five cups a day, you should eat a diet chocolate pudding instead. It’s not bad to drink sugar-free hot choclate, as long as you don’t consume a lot.

A lot of the foods which were mentioned above are considered ‘healthy foods’. It is, in fact, healthy, and will still contribute well in your healthy living, but you have to remember to consume it in moderation. Always remember: Eating less of everything wouldn’t bring you harm.
