Quarter past twelve noon – your boss talked to you regarding your attendance, your other half dumped you, and your finances are going down the drain. Could you even get any worse than this? Face it–this is reality and most people undergo these kinds of trial. However, do you know how much of the population go through this, at the same time indulging their so-called “comfort food”?
What’s the first thing that you’ll do when you’re stressed? If your answer is going to the nearest drive thru ordering that luscious combination of burger, milkshake and fries, you know that your weight loss program is doomed. No matter how effective your program is, your weight will just go down the drain.
Here are some tension-relieving strategies that you can do:
GIVE IN
Studies show that women tend to eat more unhealthy foods only when they are stressed-out or when they restrict themselves from calorie-intake in order to lose weight. In that case, it indicates that women should not deprive themselves from eating certain foods that they claim as “restricted” because of their diet. Women should see them as foods that you can enjoy once in a while. Maybe one or two treats a day will help you – rather than avoiding them entirely. In this way, you won’t go overboard when stress arise.
THERAPY
Don’t restrict yourself from having the right pampering. You can always have a massage any time. See, if you have a massage once in a while, it helps relieve stress. So, go on and have your time at a spa and pamper yourself – you deserve it!
SLEEP
Yes, most of us lack sleep, but you better do something about it. Sleep is something that everyone would WANT to have lately, which is not supposed to be the case. As part of healthy living, you NEED to sleep, and you have to do it. When you deprive yourself from sleep, it also increases the amount of gherlin, a kind of hormone that triggers your appetite and decreases leptin, the hormone that suppress your appetite. So, to get the best out of these hormones, make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep a night.
