August 24th, 2011

Did you ever understand what the food pyramid was for? Or have you ever followed the food pyramid in your daily meals? Well, if you haven’t followed the food pyramid abut you still want to include healthy food and diet in your lifestyle, here’s the new nutrition plate that is much more easier to understand and to follow.

The first lady of the United States of America, Mrs. Michelle Obama, unveiled the new nutriton plate a few months back. The image is only divided into four (4) basic food groups which are fruit, vegetables, grains and protein. There’s a smaller cirlce on the righthand corner of the image which is for dairy products. This image will definitely be easier to follow for every meal. The new design is called MyPlate, and is part of Mrs. Obama’s campaign against obesity.

The plate was designed by the Agriculture Department of the USA with the advicefrom Mrs. Obama’s anti-obesity team and of course, under the supervision of the federal health officials, too.

Though this is a part of a campaign in the United States, this will also be a good reminder to everyone from all around the world. When doing your personal weight loss program, you can take a look at the MyPlate image and see if you have all the right foods in your daily plan to have the sufficient nutrients that your body needs.

Always remember that a daily diet plan consists of the right amount of food to eat plus the right exercise for you to attain desirable results.
