Running is a very good way to keep yourself physically fit, and is also a very good cardio exercise. Of course, just like any other physical training, running can also cause you fatigue if done abusively. If you can’t manage to calculate if you’re already running excessively causing damage to your body, here are some of the foods which you can take to protect your body from injury caused by running:

Brazil Nuts are rich in selenium that creates compounds that is known as an antioxidant enzyme called selenoproteins.

Egg yolks are vital to eye health. Yolks are known to be a leading source of antioxidants that accumulate in your eye’s retina called lutein and zeaxanthin.

Lentils are full of protein, vitamins and minerals. They are capable of neutralizing free radicals because of its high phenol concentrarion. These may have a high contribution in muscle recovery and reduces risk of chronic diseases.

Molasses are sweeteners that you’ll never be guilty on using. It’s high in iron, magnesium and antioxidants that reduce the risk of DNA damage in your body.

Peanut Butter is  a runner’s favorite. This antioxidant protects your body from heart disease because it consists of resveratrol, a heart-protecting compound which can be found in peanuts.

What’s common on all of these? It contains antioxidants—which is a runner’s best friend because it prevents cell damage to happen.
